Keynote Speech: Building a career as a dealmaker in private equity
Cheryl Potter spent two decades at Permira leading the Global Consumer Team and the London office. She also served on the firm’s Executive Committee and the Compensation and Partnership Committee. Whilst the number of women in private markets has grown since Cheryl joined Permira in 1999, there is still a long way to go with only 10% of women working in Senior Investment roles. (Level 20 and BVCA D&I Survey 2021).
While more women are entering the industry at a junior level, Private Equity still struggles to retain diverse talent.
This keynote speech will share learnings from a career spent in the deal team, how the industry can attract and retain more women and the role of Level 20.
Cheryl Potter, Chair, Level 20
